Director of Processing and Production
The Director of Processing and Production is responsible for organizing, coordinating and managing the daily mussel, oyster and clam production with a team of up to 15 employees, while adhering to deadlines, quality standards, safety standards and department and company budgets and goals.
Qualifications:
- Production Management experience (in seafood industry preferably)
- Experience managing 10 or more employees
- Bilingual – English and Spanish
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Computer skills
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and participate in daily operations of production from processing to shipping while following company policies, procedures and budgets and meeting goals and deadlines
- Manage a multicultural processing team of up to 15 people to include fostering effective employee relations and managing wages and paid time off
- Manage production budget with management team
- Manage the shellfish tag operation to ensure accurate information, adequate inventory, training users, minimizing waste, etc.
- Monitor seawater system daily and report any issues to Maintenance Tech
- Monitor ice production daily
- Follow HACCP plan and enforce quality
- Follow OSHA plan and enforce safety
- Computer based inventory and shipping
Monday – Friday, 9 hours per day with 1 hour of breaks/lunch. Start and end times may vary and are to be determined. Salary depends on experience.
