Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Fletcher, a leading regional granite producer. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of trucks including flat bed tractor trailers. Truck maintenance/mechanic skills are a plus as well as ability to operate a fork lift. Pay is commensurate with skill level, experience, and ability - a highly qualified individual is preferred. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the pick up and delivery of granite safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent route driving skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate an 18 wheeler, tractor trailer flat bed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes traveled, and cargo delivered.
- Follow designated routes and schedules while being flexible to adapt to changes as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of manual transmission operation.
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures.
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps for route planning.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Background check and drug screening may be required as part of the hiring process.
